Cookie Policy
Last updated 27 September 2026
Stillscope stores only what it needs to work, or what remembers a choice you made. No advertising cookies, no analytics, and nothing that follows you to other websites.
The short version
A cookie is a small file a website keeps in your browser. Stillscope uses one to keep you signed in and one while you sign in with Google. It also saves a few settings in your browser: choices you made, like light or dark, and a marker that lets the sign-in page say “Welcome back”. None of it is used for advertising or to track you, and none of it is shared with anyone else, which is why we don’t show a cookie banner.
Cookies
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
faceless_ | Keeps you signed in. It is signed so it can’t be forged, and a page’s scripts can’t read it. | 90 days, or until you sign out |
oauth_ | Protects your sign-in with Google from being tampered with while it happens. | 10 minutes |
Settings saved in your browser
These stay in your browser. Only one is ever sent to us: the studio a tab is working in.
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
faceless. | Light, dark, or matching your device, once you choose. | Until you change it |
stillscope. | Whether you folded the app’s side menu. | Until you change it |
stillscope. | The format you last picked to filter your channels. | Until you change it |
fl_ | Whether you turned notifications on in this browser. | Until you change it |
stillscope. | A script you typed on the homepage, kept only once you press Create video, so it is waiting for you after you sign in. | Until you next open Create, or clear your browser’s data |
stillscope. | That this browser has signed in before, so the sign-in page says “Welcome back”. It holds nothing about you. | Until you clear your browser’s data |
faceless. | Which studio this tab is working in — yours, or one you were invited into. It holds that studio’s email address and is sent with each request, so the right studio answers. | Until you close the tab |
stillscope. | When this tab last reloaded itself after an update, so it never reloads in a loop. | Until you close the tab |
The app’s own files
So that Stillscope opens quickly and can be installed like an app, your browser keeps a copy of the site’s own files — its code, icons and fonts — much as it keeps any website’s files to load them faster. Nothing about you is in them.
Notifications
If you turn notifications on, your browser gives us an address to send them to (a push subscription). Turn them off in your Account page, or in your browser’s settings, and they stop.
YouTube
The example videos on our homepage play in YouTube’s player, which loads only when you press play. Once it does, YouTube may store cookies or similar data on your device and receives information such as your IP address, under Google’s Privacy Policy. The pictures of those videos come from our own site, so nothing is sent to YouTube before you press play.
Inside your account, your Google profile picture and the pictures of YouTube channels and videos are loaded from Google’s servers, which receive your IP address when they load.
Your choices
You can delete cookies and saved site data in your browser’s settings at any time. If you do, you’ll be signed out and your settings will reset. If you block cookies from stillscope.com altogether, you won’t be able to sign in.
Changes and questions
If we add anything to this page, the date at the top changes — and if we ever wanted to use a cookie that isn’t needed for the service, we would ask you first.
Email support@stillscope.com. How we handle personal information generally is in the Privacy Policy.
