What you get

A finished 1080p video as long as your script takes to read aloud, usually twenty minutes or more, with its YouTube description already written. There is no timeline to edit and nothing to approve along the way.

Where the pictures come from

Each passage of your narration is matched to wartime film and photographs from military and public archives, and from the wider web where the archives run short: newsreel, photographs, posters and maps of the period. The whole video is finished in black and white, so newsreel and photograph sit together as one.

Small photographs are enlarged with AI, which can change fine details, and a picture found on the web can belong to someone else. Watch each video before you publish it.

More visuals

Turn on More visuals and the pictures change more often, with dates, places, names and quotations set on screen as the narrator reaches them. It has its own rate per minute, shown beside the price on this page and on the Create screen before you start.

Who it is for

Faceless YouTube channels about the Second World War and military history: battles and campaigns, generals and admirals, ships, aircraft, weapons and logistics. These subjects work best because that is where the film and photo archives are richest.

The narration

Pick a voice from the library, use your own cloned voice, or upload narration you recorded yourself. Names and places are said the way you spell them.

How it works

  1. 1

    Paste your script

Plain prose, at least 500 characters, written the way it should be spoken. Or upload narration you recorded.

  2. 2

    Press Create

It records the voice, finds or draws every picture and cuts the video. Nothing to approve along the way.

  3. 3

    Download and upload

A 1080p video with its YouTube description written, yours to download for ten days.
