History · Drawn from your script

History documentaries in period photographs

Write about any year of the twentieth century. Stillscope narrates your script and makes every picture the way a camera of the day would have caught it, so you need no archive footage at all.

Made with the History look

More examples, every look

What you get

A finished 1080p video as long as your script takes to read aloud, usually twenty minutes or more, with its YouTube description already written and subtitles that are your script word for word.

How the pictures are made

Every picture is generated from your script with the film, lens and wear of its year: rougher early in the century, cleaner as it goes on. Because nothing is searched, the pictures follow what the narrator is saying, including places and moments no camera recorded.

These are made pictures, not archive photographs. They show what a scene could have looked like, not a record of it, and YouTube asks you to label videos like these as AI-made when you upload them.

Who it is for

Faceless YouTube channels about twentieth-century history: a country before its revolution, an economy that rose or fell, a city in a decade that is gone, everyday life in another time.

The narration

Pick a voice from the library, use your own cloned voice, or upload narration you recorded yourself. Names and places are said the way you spell them.

How it works

  1. 1

    Paste your script

Plain prose, at least 500 characters, written the way it should be spoken. Or upload narration you recorded.

  2. 2

    Press Create

It records the voice, finds or draws every picture and cuts the video. Nothing to approve along the way.

  3. 3

    Download and upload

A 1080p video with its YouTube description written, yours to download for ten days.
